Artic, after a stringent audit, have recently retained their ISO 9001 (Quality) and OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety) accreditations and we explore below their importance, looking at how both accreditations strengthen Artic’s operations.
What is ISO Accreditation?
ISO Accreditation gives assurance that the business credentials have been independently checked and verified by a third party. ISO is a seal of approval from a qualified third party body that the company in question is effectively running one of the internationally recognised ISO management systems giving business credibility and further enhances brand reputation.
The international recognition of ISO management systems make them a desirable asset for businesses, but also companies seeking contractors and partners for their facilities management or construction partner.
Artic has retained ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 recently with the awarding and accrediting body recognising how the company have truly embraced health and safety in the workplace as well as quality practices and also that Artic have implemented proactive processes to ensure in-house delivery standards are also monitored and able to improve. Artic achieve no major or minor non conformities in each accreditation and below is a closer look at the finer details of each one.
What is ISO 9001?
The ISO 9001 standard’s intention is to improve internal working in order to achieve greater consistency and quality of service and the results of implementing such as standard are greater efficiency and productivity, linking to increased profitability.
ISO 9001 is also aimed at achieving customer satisfaction by setting out what needs to be in place in order to consistently meet customer requirements.
With an ISO 9001 quality management system a company can consistently and effectively monitor and manage quality across their whole operation and develop clear strategies for improvement.
What is OHSAS 18001?
With many health and safety standards around, OHSAS 18001 has emerged as the preferred option since being launched in 1999.
OHSAS 18001 is an occupational health and safety management system which sets out minimum requirements for best practice for the management of occupational health and safety.
OHSAS 18001 is designed to ensure businesses provide the best possible working environment which is safe and designed in line with internationally recognised best practice in health and safety.
The system helps to ensure Artic have a strong set of policies, procedures and controls in place to handle any possible health and safety risks that may occur.
Retention of our ISO accreditation is a fantastic achievement as it reiterates Artic are committed to Best Practice and the highest levels of quality and standards.
